Frank Preble, founder and tour tailor of Landfall Custom Tours, is a native of the great state of Maine and a lifelong explorer. His formative years were spent skiing, sailing, canoeing, fly fishing and generally appreciating the abundant natural beauty of the Northeast.

Having traveled extensively throughout the six New England states, New York and eastern Canada for the better part of 35 years, Frank knows the region like the back of his hand. He can introduce you to hidden treasures and inspire you to view old favorites in a new way.

Frank planned his first experiential group adventure as a teen - a wilderness expedition along the remote Allagash Wilderness Waterway to celebrate high school graduation with a group of good friends.

In college, he became the unofficial road trip organizer on campus. All Frank needed was a few willing participants, and he would make it happen, whether it was a ski trip to Killington, a lobster bake on the beach, or a bonfire and barbecue along the shore of Moosehead Lake.

After graduation, he took a job that enabled him to pursue his greatest passions; skiing, sailing and traveling. After spending a decade touring top resorts and ski towns during the winter and sailing meccas throughout the summer, Frank started a family and a second career. Hard adventure-themed weekends gave way to invigorating getaways for overstressed parents.

Over the years, Frank's reputation as a trip planner grew. Friends, and then friends of friends, began accompanying him on his adventures. In early 2000, at the eager behest of many a traveling partner, Frank decided to get into the tour business full time.

Though Frank's excursions are decidedly more upscale than they were back when he was a teen exploring the Maine wilderness, his philosophy remains the same - all itineraries are working documents, and there is always time to take advantage of the unexpected.

With his extensive travel planning skills, Frank is able to deliver a seamless, worry-free travel experience to his clients. Because every detail is taken care of, guests are able to simply relax and have fun.
